lbreeze

We use what we sell, on the day we ship it.

lbreeze is a hosting company that builds its own platform — and licenses that platform to other hosting companies. Both halves run the same code.

Why both

Software written by people who carry the pager.

Most hosting platforms are built by a vendor and run by somebody else. The vendor hears about a problem second-hand, through a support ticket, translated twice. The incentive to fix the dull thing that wastes ten minutes a day is never quite strong enough.

We run our own hosting on Zephyr, kstack and Standby. When the backup restore is slow, when the panel makes you click four times for something that should be one, when an alert fires at 3am for something that did not matter — that is our night too.

You get the same code

There is no “enserprise build” and no internal version with the good parts. The archive we deploy to our own machines is the archive you download.

And the same updates

Licence-gated, Ed25519-signed, verified against a pinned key before anything is swapped in. We are on the same release edge you are.

How we build

Four rules we do not bend.

Money is never a float

Every amount is an integer of minor units with an ISO 4217 currency, over a double-entry ledger. A penny lost to rounding is a penny nobody can find later, and billing software that cannot be reconciled is not billing software.

Measured, not claimed

If a page says a number — restore drills replayed, mailboxes migrated, vCPU available — something measured it. We would rather publish a smaller true number than a larger comfortable one.

A failure has to be visible

The worst bugs report success. A backup that was never restored, an alert that stopped firing, a config that saved and never applied — we spend a disproportionate amount of time making those loud.

Your data stays yours

The software is self-hosted: your servers, your PostgreSQL. The only thing that talks to us is the update check, which asks what the current release is and presents your licence.

What we sell

Two things, honestly separate.

Hosting, for businesses that want a site, email and a database without thinking about the machinery. From £3.99 a month, with SSL, backups and mailboxes in the price rather than added at checkout.

Software, for hosting companies that want to run their own platform. Zephyr for billing and provisioning, kstack for the control panel, Standby for on-call and status. Licensed separately, self-hosted, and importable from WHMCS or HostBill.

If you are here for one, you can ignore the other entirely.
