Software written by people who carry the pager

Most platforms in this industry are built by a vendor and run by somebody else. The vendor hears about a problem second-hand, through a support ticket.

• ✓We run our own platform on it. When a restore is slow or an alert fires at 3am for something that did not matter, that is our night too.
• ✓You get the same code. There is no enterprise build and no internal version with the good parts. What we deploy to our own machines is what you install.
• ✓And the same updates. Only for licensed installs, and checked before anything is installed. We get them the same way you do.

Four rules we do not bend

• ✓Updates you can trust. Each release is signed and checked before it is installed, and arrives only through your licence. Nothing already running is switched off if a licence lapses.
• ✓Measured, not claimed. If a page says a number, something measured it. We would rather publish a smaller true number than a larger comfortable one.
• ✓A failure has to be visible. The worst bugs report success: a backup never restored, an alert that stopped firing. We spend a disproportionate amount of time making those loud.
• ✓Your data stays yours. The software is self-hosted. The licence and update checks send nothing about what is on your servers. Stasys’s vulnerability match sends each machine’s software list, so its findings are about what is really installed.
