Stasys

Monitor every server. Page the right person. Prove it was handled. One agent for Linux and Windows, with monitoring, on-call, security and compliance in one place, and a status page that stays up when yours do not.

Getting started with Stasys

What you install, where, and the order to set it up in.

Stasys covers on-call, monitoring, security, compliance with a public Trust Center, and a public status page, for the servers you run. You install it on your own servers.

What you install

  • Stasys on your own Ubuntu 26.04, Debian 13 or Alpine 3.20+ server. This is where you and your team work.
  • The status page on a second, separate server, so it stays up when the systems it reports on do not. Stasys will not install it on its own server.
  • A telemetry server for metrics and logs, added from the Telemetry page.
  • The agent on each machine you want covered, Linux or Windows. It only connects out, so you do not open any inbound port for it.
  • Extra check locations, if you want your public services checked from more than one region. Status page → Probe nodes gives the command for each one.
  • The desktop app for Windows, if you want tray alerts and an alarm that rings until someone acknowledges.

The order to set it up in

  1. Install Stasys with the command and licence key from your account. The installer checks the key and keeps it. To replace it later, use Settings → Updates & License. Nothing can be enrolled without a valid key.
  2. On the second server, run the command shown in Status page → Overview to install the status page.
  3. Add a telemetry server from the Telemetry page if you want metrics and logs.
  4. Install the agent on the machines you want covered. Debian and Ubuntu report everything; other systems report less, and each server's page lists what it reports.
  5. Add outside checks for anything you want tested from the internet.
  6. Set up escalation chains and an on-call schedule, so an alert reaches a person rather than a dashboard. For phone calls and texts, connect your own Bird, Telnyx or Twilio account under Settings → Telephony; until then, pages go by email and push.
  7. If you want the AI staff to work, connect an AI provider under Settings → AI providers.
  8. Under Compliance, adopt the frameworks you are measured against and write a scope statement for each.
