kmail

kmail · part of KStack

Your mail, calendar and contacts. On hardware you can point at.

The webmail KStack mail servers come with as standard, at mail.yourdomain and in your brand. One address, every device: the webmail, Outlook, Apple Mail and your phone all read the same mailbox.

  • Installs as an app. Add it to a phone or desktop from the browser. It tells you when new mail arrives while it is open and says honestly when it is offline.
  • Meetings by email. Invitations go out by email, and each reply shows on the event. Week, day and month views.
  • Search within any folder. By sender or subject, with filters, labels, quick actions, and a junk button that trains the filter.
  • Light and dark, keyboard throughout. A command palette and shortcuts for the people who live in their inbox, and a layout that works on a phone.

What is in it

Mail

Folders with unread counts, filters and quick actions, labels, reply and forward, attachments, addresses suggested from your contacts, a junk button that trains the filter, and Trash you can restore from.

Calendar

Week, day and month. Invitations go out by email and each reply shows on the event.

Contacts

Address books with search, used by the composer as you type.

Settings

Light or dark, notifications and the app on each device, and how to connect your other devices.

In your brand, per domain

Colours, font and name per domain, a sign-in that matches the panel, and mail.yourdomain as the address. Phones and mail apps set themselves up from the domain.

Built to be safe to open

Every message is shown in its own sealed frame: no scripts, remote pictures held back until you ask, links checked. The webmail sends only as the mailbox that signed in, sign-in is rate-limited and idle sessions are ended.

It comes with KStack

Nothing extra to buy

kmail comes with KStack. Mail servers you add get it as standard, and it stays up to date with KStack.

One mailbox, every device

The webmail, Outlook, Apple Mail and phones all read and send from the same mailbox, with calendars and contacts in sync.

On your own servers

Mail lives on your KStack mail servers, never beside websites, with backups, sending reputation and archiving looked after by the platform.

Frequently asked questions

Is kmail sold on its own?

No. It comes with KStack at no extra charge.

Can my customers use Outlook or their phone instead?

Yes. The webmail, Outlook, Apple Mail and phones all use the same mailbox, and mail apps set themselves up from the domain.

Can it carry my customers’ branding?

Yes. Colours, font and the name are set per domain, so a reseller’s customers see the reseller’s brand at mail.theirdomain.

Does the webmail keep working if the KStack panel is down?

Yes. Mail servers keep serving mail and webmail from what they already hold. While the panel is down nothing can be changed, and scheduled backups and certificate renewals wait until it is back.

kmail is one of the things you get with KStack
