Read your site's statistics and health
See whether your website is healthy, what it is using against its limits, its visitors and bandwidth, and why a page is failing.
Every website in your control panel has two places that tell you how it is doing. The Overview tab says whether it is healthy right now. The Analytics tab shows how it has done over time.
Is my site healthy?
Open My sites, then the website. The Overview tab has these cards:
- Health: one sentence saying whether anything is wrong, then one line per check. When one fault causes others, it lists the cause first and says how many further checks fail only because of it. Fix the cause and those clear on their own.
- Is it answering?: whether a visitor can reach the site, checked from outside.
- Where things stand: one line each for the certificate, backups, traffic, the application, the domain names the site answers to, and SFTP. Each line links to the tab that changes it.
- Your domain: select Check my DNS to see whether each name points at the site.
Good to know: if the Health card says it could not be read, that is not the same as nothing being wrong. Reload the page; if it stays missing, tell us through Support.
What is my site using?
What this website is using, on the Overview tab, shows CPU, memory, disk and processes against the limits your plan gives the site. The figures are read from the server about once a minute. Going over the disk allowance is flagged, and nothing is ever deleted because of it.
For your whole account, select Usage in the menu. It shows storage and traffic against what your plan allows.
Visitors, traffic and bandwidth
Open the Analytics tab. Choose the period at the top: the last 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or 90 days. Every chart on the tab covers the same period.
- Resource usage: the history behind the usage figures on the Overview tab.
- Traffic: the requests and bandwidth the site served.
- Pages: the most requested pages, and which ones are failing. Individual requests are kept for seven days.
- Bandwidth: everything the site moved, measured at its own network connection, including what it sent out. This is usually a bigger number than Traffic. A large gap with no matching visitors is worth a look.
Traffic and usage history are recorded only where your server has statistics collection set up. If it does not, the cards say so, and the Overview figures still show what the site is using now.
How long traffic is kept
The How long traffic is kept card sets how many days this site's traffic records are kept. Leave it empty to use the platform setting, and select Save. A change applies to new records only.
Why is a page failing?
On a PHP site, the PHP errors card on the Analytics tab shows what PHP wrote when a page failed. The traffic tells you a page returned an error; this log tells you why. It is kept outside your site's public folder, because error messages can name file paths and sometimes passwords.
