Read your email in webmail
Sign in to webmail at mail.yourdomain to read and send email, and to keep a calendar and contacts, from any browser.
Webmail lets you read and send email from a browser, with nothing to install. Every mailbox on your domain can use it, at the address https://mail.yourdomain/, on your domain's own certificate.
- Go to
https://mail.yourdomain/. You can also click Open webmail on your domain's page in the control panel. - In Email, type the full email address.
- In Password, type the mailbox password.
- Tick Keep me signed in on this device if this is your own computer.
- Click Sign in.
Good to know: There is no password reset inside webmail. If a mailbox password is lost, set a new one in your control panel: choose Mailboxes, open the domain, and click Manage beside the mailbox.
Find your way around
The rail on the left switches between Mail, Calendar, Contacts and Settings. It also has a button to switch between light and dark, and a button to sign out. On a phone, the folders and the rail open from the menu button at the top.
- Choose a folder to see its messages, then a message to read it.
- Use the search box to find mail in the open folder by sender or subject. The All, Unread, Starred and With files buttons narrow the list.
- Press Ctrl+K to jump to a folder or an action by typing its name.
Write and send
- Click New message.
- Fill in To. Click Add Cc if you need copies.
- Type a Subject and your message.
- To attach files, drop them onto the message box, or click the paperclip (Attach files). Each file uploads as soon as you add it.
- Click Send, or Discard to throw the message away.
Reply, reply all and forward are buttons at the top of an open message.
Good to know: Webmail does not save a draft while you type. If a long message matters, send it or copy it before you close the tab.
Junk mail
The Junk button above an open message (shortcut !) moves it to your Junk folder. In Junk, the Not junk button puts a message back in the Inbox. Both teach the spam filter, as described in Spam filtering and mail rules.
Calendar and contacts
In Calendar, click New event. An event has a title, a start and end, a place, people and notes. People you add under People are invited by email when you save the event, and their replies show on it.
In Contacts, use Search people to find someone in your address book, or click New contact to add one.
To see your calendar and contacts on a phone, open Settings and look at Other devices. It shows the server for mail apps and the address for calendar and contact apps (CalDAV and CardDAV).
Settings
- Appearance: light, dark, or follow the device.
- Your name and signature: the name people see on mail you send from webmail, in Name shown to recipients.
Set an out-of-office reply in your control panel rather than in webmail; see Forwarders, aliases, catch-all and auto-replies.
What webmail does not do yet
- Folders cannot be created or renamed in webmail.
- A signature saved in Settings is not added to new messages for you.
- Calendars and address books are not shared with other people.
- Addresses are not suggested from a company-wide directory.
- The look of the sign-in page is set by your hosting provider and cannot be changed by you.
